My favorite teachers were the ones who were passionate about what they were teaching.
But I didn’t like classes in which the teacher did not seem to care about the students.
In this class, I’m most nervous about projects because I don't think that I am a creative person.
In this class, I’m most excited about writing papers.

Below are the goals for my Foundations of College Writing Course.
For each goal, I've selected work that demonstrates how I addressed that goal during the course,

Goal A - Students will be able to compose
for particular audiences and purposes
I have made diary entry type posts, a research paper,
a magazine type flyer/fact sheet
My audience could be really anyone. It isn't aimed for a specific crowd.
Goal B - Students will be able to compose using
language and conventions appropriate to genre
My writing isn't anything too hard to comprehend. It's simple and easy to read and understand.
It has to be this way because I'm not a professional and I don't know how else to make my work any different. Since I don't have a specific audience it also is necessary to be clear and easy to understand.
Goal C - Students will be able to read, select, and use
evidence critically to formulate and support arguments
I found a research article about an experiment done that I have written about in my second professional genre.
I used this as evidence because it was perfect for my topic. It was explaining everything that I wanted to explain and I agree with everything written.
Goal D - Students will be able to interpret and compose in
a variety of media and print/non-print genres
I used pictures of people who looked depressed, and a picture of the Tumblr icon.
Using these pictures can influence people in a way that will help them understand more about depression. It adds more emotion and feeling to the project.
Goal E - Students will be able to describe and apply
appropriate writing processes, both individually
and in collaborative contexts
Peer review helped me tremendously because I got advice and tips from my reviewers. Each time I learned what I needed to fix in order to improve my work.
Getting another person's perspective is very helpful for projects because no one wants a boring project. Hearing what my peers had to say about my work gave me more ideas about what I could do.
Before Bloomsburg, I lived in Philadelphia.
